Goat Rock Sun 11-8

Steve D, new club member, wanted to fly at Goat Rock. Sat looked windy for a first flight there. We got there early Sun, by 10.

It was beautiful, sunny, calm. Rangers were closing the beach parking lots because of high surf. We could fly down but we would have to hike our gliders back up.

Waves were high but the beach was landable.

The parking lot was busy, because all the other lots were closed. We talked to a lot of people. It was sunny and calm,very nice....

Stonyford Turkey Shoot - this Saturday

Every year Stonyford has a turkey shoot as a fund raiser for their fire department. I went a few years ago with Scot and a few others. Scot almost won the clay pigeon shoot - he lost in overtime sudden death. It was a fun day. I didn't find any information about this year's event on the web, but got the date and time from the general store. The fun starts on Saturday, 11/7, at 11AM. You take your own gun. Camera: Here's an HD video cam that fits over your ear!

This news article about the San Jose police dept. says that they'll start carrying HD video cameras as part of their uniforms. The camera comes from the Taser folks and will fit over the officer's ear.

Just think what we could do with this. I'd think it's much the same as the HD lipstick cams that have recently come out. What fun!
