Tuttle Creek campground was almost empty. Friday we were the only ones at launch. Kurt, Bob and Greg flew, I drove. They all launched by 11.30 am, but only

My friend and his wife were very gracious to offer me a bed in their cabin near Indian Valley. Because of the Rich fire, there was a highway patrolman insuring that only residents were let in. Sunday, Matt and I joined Ryan and some Berkely Club pilots. 3 of us launched from the top. Wind at the top was crossing from the northwest, light.

I got to 9000 over the top. The best lift was in a convergance area over the knob, to over 8000 feet.
About 6 flew. It was smoky to the north. The Monkey Rock fire is out, doesn't look too bad.
