I think it's because John, in an attempt to give the artist credit perhaps, announced right at the beginning of the video who the artist was. Probably
best to give credit at the end.

I think this is from Dave Merriman's brother:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ0qSF2G3JU You'll notice that at lease a couple of pilots didn't run it all the way into the air. |

Ernie, Dave's brother is in the foreground of the video at the 5:25 mark. I guess that doesn'tmean it wasn't his video, but I think it makes it
unlikely.

Yosemite Video Posted on Facebook with Soundtrack

FYI -- I finally posted my edited Yosemite video on Facebook, and the soundtrack was preserved. Enjoy! ("Friend" me if you want to see it.)
I may mess around a little more with trying to get it up on YouTube with the soundtrack too. I put the soundtrack artist credit on the title at my daughter's suggestion. I don't think the title matters -- they are fingerprinting the audio tracks during the pre-publish processing they do behind the scenes. -John DeAguiar |

Just an FYI you can restore the music to youtube. in the HG.org site a guy by the name Nmerider found a video that explains how to restore your video. I can not go directly to youtube otherwise I would just link the file. edit: quick and dirty notes video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lVVZsJNfDE click - resolve dispute click - learn more Click take me to the dispute form Highlight 2 and copy and paste what it says. sign your name In good faith box -copy and paste the "in good faith.. content and submit the form Basically you hit the despute claim and sign an electronic form to have your music restored. There are two things you want to copy and paste. It is worth while viewing the video. You are signing that this is for entertainment only fair use act of 1976 for music. Or just stay away from artist that uses the labels WMG. I think there might be one more starts with a Y. I'll see if I can find the other label. Sorry for using the visitor log I forgot my password. I have it written somewhere. It worked for all of mine video. The music was restored within 10mins. Or just go to Vimeo. Carmela

Hi, Carmela!
Are you saying that there is a list of artists that are part of WMG, the Warner Music Group? If so, do you know where the list is? I just did a quick google of WMG and there's a bunch of links. I'll poke around and see if I can find the list. |

Not sure if there's a list, I just check the album cover either on line or the CD. Now that you can dispute the claim it is not such a big deal. It worked
on all of mine videos all music/audio was restored.
Yosemite is absolutely the most scenic sled ride. I went in 07 it is forever etched in my mind. I hope to go again soon!

Here's a video of a guy trying to explain the whole mess with WMG. Caution, swearing is involved:

My video is now in HD on YouTube

Take another look at my video. It is now at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvjZP6QxSw8 I used Magix Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus to create an output .wmv file that retains the original 19:6 aspect ratio and 720p resolution. This looks much better on YouTube. To view it, use the link to go to YouTube, then click on the "HD" button at the bottom of the video window. That'll give you a better image. Then try full-screen by clicking the icon next to the "HD" icon. The results on my 24" HD monitor are pretty good, although still not as crisp as showing the .wmv file on my HD TV. I think I have it now, how to process a video for a decent YouTube presentation. But, it required my buying a commercial video editing package. |

Image Stabilization | ||

One feature of these commercial packages that I experimented with was Image Stabilization. It does a pretty good job of making the distant scenery appear less
jittery (caused by the camera mount being a bit flakey). But, the downside is that in order to do its magic, the pgm has to throw away some of the scene, in
effect zooming in a bit. I liked the steadier image, but I just can't give up the nice wide view, so I didn't use it in the end.
BTW, it looks like the different packages go about this a bit differently. At least one package had interesting results. Maybe I'll do it again just so I can show the effect in action. |

landing flare | ||
|
(07/01/09 16:19:27) |
Ernie, I just watched your video again, and the quality was very good.
But regarding your comments about your flare, I would say that part of the problem for you is that slider on the back of the harness. I had that same problem when I had my Sensor with 70" downtubes, and a CG 1000 harness with slider on the back. When I went vertical, the harness would drop a few inches as it went to the top of the slider, reducing even more my flare authority with those long downtubes. My landings improved 100 percent when I got a Z4 harness with no slider, also an XC with 65 inch downtubes. You just get no flare authority when hanging so low on the downtubes. Imagine yourself hanging 5 or 6 inches higher and the better flare authority you'd have. Just a thought and hopefully a helpful hint. Best, Ralph |

Ernie Camacho wrote:The problem with you landing was you only went to the down tubes 3 seconds before you impacted. You slide your hands up 1 second before impact. You approach was not very stable as they say in the general aviation world. Watch Greg's landing in Long Valley from a few weeks ago. When he moves around 20 seconds or so before landing he is pulling himself up into the full verticle position and getting high on the down tubes. As you can se in his video he makes an easy landing in almost no wind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFow5o3bscU Vince |

Vince, I have a Skorpian harness, made by Dynamic Flight in Australia:
http://www.dynamicflight.com.au/ScorpionRR.html As for the landing observation, thanks. Part of my problem was fooling myself into thinking I'd have more time in ground effect after rounding out. I forgot I was flying a Falcon. But yes, I do need to practice getting higher on the downtubes. |
