Ernie called the meeting to order.



The announcement and presentation of a Plaque of thanks to Larry R. and Ernie C. for the developement and management of the King Mountain Web site.



The election of the 2009 officers of the club was held with the following results:

President, Leo Jones
Vice President, Donna Mathias
Secretary, Bob Newman
Treasurer, John DeAguiar
Site Director,Jon James
Safety Director, Ernie Camacho



Meeting site change was talked about and it was agreed that the current site is usually the most centrally located site that is working fine.



Meeting Format change was talked about with an idea to present more opportunities to talk about and demonstrate "How To" information, such as Harnesses, gadgets, radios, antennas, cameras, varios, gps's, and ham information.



A show of hands was asked for of everyone in the room who has a Ham license. There was a 100% show of hands of the individuals present indicating that they have Ham licenses. A web site for AARRL was announced to remind people when their licenses expire and how to re-license.



The Mt. St. Helena gate lock situation was discussed and some ideas where thrown around; Is it possible for the club to have its own lock? The Club could help with finacing a new lock system. The Ranger said that he would make sure the gate would be passable this coming weekend and that they where also having problems with the gate. Jon J. said that he had been in contact with the ranger and communications with the Park service will continue.



The Holiday Party theme was voted on and the theme "Myths and Legends" won. The Party this year will be at Donna and Charlie's house on Dec. 13th. Lisa Tate is suppose to be there. The awarding of the revolving trophies and awards will occcur.



The BOD meeting which was held in Tennesse produced some discussion about the Nationals being held at King Mountain in 2009 and the possible change in format for not only the Nationals but two different Nationals and how US national comp teams are selected, There might be a sponsor at King for next year.



Safety Committee Report: Charlie introduced the topic of Hook In Safety and Scot H gave his account of his accident at McClure with the bottom line being, DON'T FORGET TO HOOK IN. Topics of distractions and routine/ rituals, pre-flight issues and other complications emphasized the spirited and serious nature of the discussion.



Andy M. announced his decision to move to the S.W. The Sonoma Wings wish Andy the best of flights and a smooth transition to his new flying region. Andy, your presence will be missed.



The Next meeting will be at the Holiday Party on December 13th.
