St. John fly in Critique: Task rules timing, make sure that all Pilots are informed about the risks and rules of the site and review the Pilots responsiblities prior to flying. Thanks were given to all of those that donated prizes. Compliments about the ordering of he T-Shirts was made. John D. will be selling the remaining T-Shirts.




Jon J. will connect with Justin about sending a gift to the Farmer who has been letting Pilots land in his field at King Mt..



Hull Mtn. fly in : Charlie W.will organize the Sept. 19 and 20th fly in which will feature prizes for the Olympic scored event with the accumulated scores for Launch and landing technique, streamer drop, duration, and spot landing will be added up. The event will be posted on the SW bulletin board. Saturday will be the the day of the scoring and Sunday will be for free flying.





Road work: Jeff A. was contacted and he suggests that the roads in question both need heavy machinery to help smooth things out. A letter will be authored and sent to the Supervisor with the hopes that before the rains set in that water bars and other preventative measures be taken to allow access to Hull Mtn and St. John Mtn. to remain open to the public and commercial users.





Road Trips:
Who will be going to the Owens, Hull, I.V., Lakeview or elsewhere?





Christmas Party Planning: Scheduled for December 12th with the theme and location to be decided at another time.




Safety issues: Check your harness buckles well and manually prior to launch. Be aware that there are powered air craft out there sharing the air with us. Drop a streamer, check the wind direction before and during setting up your landings.




Bulletin Board Updates: Site Guides and the weather sections will be worked on.




John D. talked about where we are in the process of regaining permission to use Dillion Beach as a training site again. Possible additional permits, and waiting for the Lawson Approval and presenting at the California Coastal Plan for the Coastal Counties.where broached. John D. was given thanks for his efforts to regain/ gain access to public and private areas for flying. Discussion about Goat Rock, and Salmon Beach.where a part of the Coastal access to foot launched powerless flight. John D. encourages, all that can to attend as many of the Planning meetings that will be occurring in the future to make sure that Hang Gliding is identified as a user group in the planning process.




John D. introduced the idea of proposing, through the National Organization, a National Hang Gliding Day. the idea was positively received.





Jon J. suggested that work parties be held at Mt. St John.



Potatoe Hill will be featured in an article in the USPGA magazine.




Disscussion about where to locate the clubs lost and found and where to locate the clubs winch where the topics that closed the meeting.
